Editorial Policy

Last Updated: 22 July 2026

1. Our Editorial Mission

Navjagran's mission is to awaken informed public discourse through fearless, fact-based journalism. We are committed to truth, depth, and impact. We believe that an informed citizenry is the bedrock of democracy, and our role is to provide the news and context necessary for people to make informed decisions.

2. Editorial Independence

Our editorial decisions are made completely independently of political, commercial, or advertiser pressure. Advertisers, sponsors, and investors have no say in our news coverage, investigations, or opinion pieces. We follow the story wherever it leads, without fear or favor.

3. Standards of Accuracy

Accuracy is the foundation of our journalism. Our reporters and editors are required to rigorously verify facts, claims, and data before publication. We do not publish rumors or unverified claims disguised as news. When complex information is presented, we provide the necessary context.

4. Source Verification

We prefer on-the-record sources. We grant anonymity only when sources face potential harm or retribution and when the information they provide is crucial to the public interest and unavailable elsewhere. The identity of anonymous sources is known to the editorial leadership. We cross-verify information provided by single sources.

5. Transparency

We clearly label sponsored content, advertorials, and partnership programs to distinguish them from editorial content. Any potential conflicts of interest regarding an author or the publication will be explicitly disclosed at the top of the relevant article.

6. Author Standards

Navjagran journalists and contributors must adhere to a strict code of ethics. They must not accept gifts, favors, or preferential treatment that could compromise their editorial integrity. Plagiarism, fabrication, and distortion of facts are grounds for immediate dismissal.

7. Comment Moderation Policy

We encourage healthy, constructive debate. However, we do not tolerate hate speech, personal attacks, doxing, spam, or misinformation in our comment sections. We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or delete comments that violate our community guidelines and ban repeat offenders.

8. Corrections & Clarifications

When we make a mistake, we own it. Corrections will be published promptly and prominently. Articles that have been significantly altered to correct an error will include an editor's note explaining the change and the time it was made.

9. Complaints Procedure

Readers who believe we have violated our editorial standards can file a formal complaint by emailing editorial@navjagran.in. We review all serious complaints and will respond appropriately.

10. Compliance

Navjagran complies with the laws of India and respects the guidelines laid out by the Press Council of India and the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) regarding digital media ethics and transparency.
